Chimney Rock, Napa Valley Residence

The vision for this project was to incorporate an appropriate level of technology befitting the value of the home. The desired amenities included comprehensive lighting control, audio/video capabilities, security features, and motorized shade pre-wiring, with the flexibility for future technology integration. To achieve this, a Savant system and speakers were initially installed, while extensive pre-wiring was implemented to accommodate the future homeowners’ potential technology additions.

The home automation system centered around a Savant System, with Lutron HomeWorks chosen as the pinnacle of lighting control. Lutron's Alisse keypads in brushed gold were selected to complement the home's other finishes, featuring custom engraving for a personalized touch. Throughout the lighting design process, close collaboration took place with the architect, ensuring that the lighting concept aligned seamlessly with the overall vision. Furthermore, a shade pre-wire was completed to enable the new owner to incorporate shading solutions at a later stage. Lutron's selection was guided by its reputation for delivering excellence in high-end residential projects, as well as its ability to accommodate future upgrades and customization within the allocated budget.

The success of the Chimney Rock project was fueled by the outstanding collaboration among all stakeholders involved. This included the developer and builder Laura Parker of Del Mar Restoration, architect Nick Noyes and interior designer Anne Sneed. The project offered an extraordinary opportunity to support a local partner builder and actively participate in the unique building process. With the incorporation of cutting-edge technology and collaborative design efforts, we are proud to have played a significant role in bringing this exceptional project to life.
